Meetup March 14th 2026 - 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mile Zero Marine, 115 High Street Portsmouth, VA 23704
This month we’re doing something different. Less price talk, more building.
Planning for Bitcoin LARP
Ever wondered what actually happens when you send a transaction? We’re going to find out — by acting it out. Participants will take on roles in the Bitcoin network: nodes, miners, wallets, the mempool. You’ll physically move transactions through the system and see how consensus works with your own eyes (and feet).
This is based on an open source framework from BTC++ designed for community groups to run. No technical background required — that’s the whole point. If you’ve been trying to explain Bitcoin to someone and the whiteboard isn’t cutting it, bring them to this.
We will discuss the materials needed and the date to do the actual LARP. You can check out the existing plan here: https://github.com/base58btc/LARP
Freedom Tech Stack
Short presentation on the layers of freedom tech — what it is, why it matters, and how the tools fit together. We’ll cover how open source software forms the foundation and why that matters for sovereignty.
Vibe Coding & AI Agents
After talking about open source, we’ll show it in action. Live demo of AI-assisted software development (yes, “vibe coding” is what the kids are calling it) and a look at AI agents — what they can do, how to build with them, and why you don’t need to be a developer to start.
Bring a laptop if you want to follow along.
This is a family friendly event. Seating is limited, so if you have a camp chair it may be advisable to bring it.
